Jail

I’d rather go to jail

Than to surrender my parental right

I’d rather go to jail

Than not teach them what’s right with all my might

I’d rather handcuffs on my wrist

Than to know this

I’ve let my children run free

Not knowing the way they need to be

No values did I sow

Because I was too afraid to do so

Too scared to teach,

be an example of what I preach

Didn’t follow the biblical rules

To save my precious jewels

From the tendency to sin that comes from within

Within all human beings

I’d rather go to jail

Than not do all I could do

To teach them good values

What’s right and what’s wrong

That to respect their parents

will help them live long and strong

I won’t surrender my parental responsibility

They’ll try to stop me

I won’t at any cost

Let their souls be lost

No I will not fail

Let the enemy prevail

Surrender my parental duty

Not do all it entail

I’d rather go to jail

His Word:

13 Do not withhold discipline from a child;
if you punish them with the rod, they will not die.
14 Punish them with the rod
and save them from death.

Proverbs 23: 13-14
